Soldiers of the Queen
VICTORIAN MILITARY SOCIETY FAIR 2008

31st May - 1st June 2008
10.30am - 4.30pm
Royal Engineers Museum, Gillingham, Kent

The Victorian Military Society, in conjunction with the Royal Engineers' Museum, will be holding a two day event at the Royal Engineers' Museum in Chatham on 31st May 2008 and 1st June 2008. From 10am to 4.30pm each day.

The Diehards will be there with other reenactment groups. There will be trade stands and displays for you to enjoy and the chance to try your hand at wargaming.

There will be lectures by guest speakers on:
'HMS Shah and the Zulu War',
'Women and the Victorian Army', and
'Tracing Military Ancestors'.

For all those interested in their own soldier ancestors there will be a help desk giving advice to family historians and other researchers.

 

Entry is £6.35 (adults), £3.30 (concessions) or £16.00 (family). Entry includes admission to the Royal Engineers' Museum. There is free car parking and Chatham and Gillingham stations are close by (the route is clearly signposted).
