Contributor Notes

'Soldiers of the Queen' welcomes contributions to the journal, in the form of both complete articles and shorter pieces, especially from members of the Society. Articles of both a scholarly, and more introductory nature are required. The journal is a prestigious outlet for articles on Victorian military history, and over the past quarter century, 'Soldiers of the Queen' has included interesting and informative pieces from many members who have gone on to become well-known military historians or writers in their own right.

In addition to the journal, the society also welcomes shorter pieces on museums, exhibitions and other items of interest to our membership for the society newsletter, 'Soldiers of the Queen'. We also welcome articles and pieces for publication on the website, particularly those which are of interest to wargamers.

The Victorian Military Society cannot pay for any articles published. However, a medal is given, the Browne Award, for the best article written each year in the journal. Contributor notes for articles are given below.

If you wish to contribute any material to the VMS, please get in touch via the contact form and we'll get back in touch. Authors of articles should have clearance of copyright for any materials used, and sources should be indicated. Copyright exists for 70 years from the end of the calendar year in which the death of the author occurred, or 25 years in the case of photographs.
