Soldiers of the Queen

'Soldiers of the Queen' is the journal of the Victorian Military Society, published quarterly. It is in an A4-glossy format of 32 pages, liberally illustrated and including a wide range of articles, both scholarly and of general interest, letters and correspondence, and a selection of book reviews covering the most relevant titles for our period. In addition the journal contains a central four-page photographic insert, usually covering a specific regiment. The journal also includes as a central pull-out, the VMS newsletter, 'Soldiers Small Book', which contains news of the society, events, museum reviews, and correspondence from members and much more besides.

All members of the Society are encouraged to submit articles for publication and each year the Council of the Victorian Military Society award the Browne Medal for the best article published. The winner receives an attractive medal presented at the Society's annual military fair. An index covering all issues of SOTQ is available to all members, and a fully searchable archive of previous articles is under development.
